So if you have high ambitions and career goals, the UK can be an excellent place to realize your dreams.

UK universities have also stepped up in times of COVID-19 and have already implemented a number of Covid-19 support services that can be beneficial for current and prospective international students.

To make the country more attractive for students, under the current rules, the UK is projected to set-up up a new "Graduate" visa route, commonly referred to as a post-study visa, for the 2020-21 intake to UK universities. Under these guidelines, the UK government is going to double its post-study visa offer from two years to four years (source: NDTV.com).

Apart from this, the UK Government has a list of approved tier 4 sponsors.  This list can be accessed here.

These guidelines enlist universities, pathway providers, and some private language schools & boarding schools. Generally, any institution on this list would require a UKVI test for the following programs:

  • All university programs below degree level require a PTE Academic UKVI test (foundation programs and pre-sessional courses)
  • Enrolling with a pathway provider: Kaplan, Cambridge Education Group, Into, Studygroup, Navitas make up 50% of the UK market. A full list can be found here.

If you’re confused about which test you need to take, here’s what you need to know.

You have to take PTE Academic UKVI if:

➔ You are going to take a below degree level (e.g. a Foundation program or professional English course)

➔ Your chosen institution is not a Tier 4 sponsor*

You can alternatively take PTE Academic if:

➔ Your institution is a Tier 4 sponsor*

➔ You wish to study at degree level or above

However, studying in the UK requires you to fulfill certain requirements, and taking a Secure English Language Test is one of them. Pearson PTE is recognized by 98% of the universities in the UK, giving candidates an excellent range of options to choose from.  This is a great option for candidates as the tests are scored through the latest AI technology, which makes them totally unbiased and free of human discretion. Through these tests, test-takers in India will now be able to get certified for UK work and study visa applications and turn their career goals into a reality.
